The song cycle A Screenshot of Now is a new work by guitarist and composer Giacomo Susani, set to poems by Chinwe D. John. This album offers its first recording. Susani's musical setting — for voice and guitar — allows the deep meaning of these 14 poems to shine through, so that sound and word become one. Each poem reflects an aspect of modern life: the corrupting nature of global politics, family dysfunction, freedom, the seductive beauty of nature, chaos, tyranny, and a satire of modern "pirates." The cycle concludes with a reminder: simple pleasures retain their meaning despite technological changes. Three eminent voices share the stage: Alexander Chance, Tim Mead, and Daniel Norman, while Giacomo Susani accompanies on guitar.
