Program & Rhythm

Description

Alessandro Adriani marks his return to Mannequin Records with an impressive work on this 2xLP 'Program & Rhythm', inspired by Italian library music and film score composers. Italian composers from the 60s to the 80s seemed limitless in their experimentation, infinitely colorful, yet they remain a hidden part of music history. Library music takes strange and fantastic detours, between screeching drum machines, grubby guitars, wacky synthesizers, and snarling brass sections. Among the big names in the scene are Ennio Morricone, Piero Umiliani, Alessandro Alessandroni, Giampiero Boneschi, Egisto Macchi, A.R. Luciani, and Bruno Nicolai, to name a few. Alessandro has transformed his analog machines into experimental synth pop, psychedelic funky jazz, and bizarre ambient fusion, creating six different outputs simply called "Program & Rhythm" from the programming buttons of the Roland CR-78. An exceptional document in Alessandro's discography, 'Program & Rhythm' embarks on a final unknown journey, creating music for films that do not yet exist, delving into obscure and faceless music.
