For ten years, Albin de la Simone performed all of his concerts without amplification. From L'Européen to the Philharmonie de Paris, from a church in Saint-Étienne to the Yamaha Hall in Tokyo, his songs were heard directly, without technological mediation. It was wonderful. Today, he is turning over a new leaf. Standing, microphone in hand, on bass or keyboard, accompanied by three musicians – Marie Lalonde (guitar or bass), Marielle Chatain (keyboards, baritone saxophone, and percussion) and Franck MBoueke (drums and percussion) – he is returning to amplifiers with as much joy as he loved acoustic music. A choice that is naturally consistent with his new album Les cent prochaines années, produced by Sage (Ambroise Willaume).
