Alasdair Roberts' is the Scottish folk songwriter's eighth album for Drag City. And if he gave it his name, it's because it's an important record to him. He recorded this album in his hometown of Glasgow at Green Door studio, where he had recorded his 2009 album 'Spoils'. He recaptured that warm tone thanks to the analog machines that haunt the place. He also wrote 10 concise and precise songs for which he was assisted by his local musician friends such as Alex South (clarinet), Donald Lindsay and the vocal quartet The Crying Lion (Alex Neilson, Lavinia Blackwall, Harry Campbell, Katy Cooper). 'Alasdair Roberts' is an essential album from an artist who knows how to evolve with each record.
