She also shared the stage with Tatsuro Yamashita and Minako Yoshida, two major figures in Japanese music, in a rare and fascinating testament to the musical effervescence of the late 1970s. The album showcases Yano's unique blend of Japanese pop and funk, featuring a remarkable rendition of To-Ki-Me-Ki and Katarun Kararan, an unreleased track (Satchan) performed solo on piano, and an eight-minute finale (Walk on the Way of Life) that brings all the musicians together in a funk and soul-infused performance. Available for the first time outside Japan, 7 O’Clock in Tokyo has been fully remastered and re-released in its original sleeve, accompanied by an insert with an introduction written by Paul Bowler.
