{"product_id":"aesop-rock-x-blockhead_garbology-vinyle-recycle_2021_mdl","title":"Garbology - Vinyle Recyclé","description":"When Aesop Rock first broke out in the late 90's with Music For Earthworms and Appleseed, Blockhead was also part of the process, not only as a producer but helping coordinate selling CDR's to hungry hip-hop fans. Blockhead and Aesop continued to collaborate, creating an impressive list of songs along the way, including two of Aesop's most popular songs to date: \"Daylight\" and \"None Shall Pass\". In recent years, Blockhead has contributed production, as well as remixes, to many of Aesop's solo albums and group projects, and Aesop Rock has made a handful of appearances on Blockhead's solo projects, but for all that time, Aesop and Block had never made a full-length album together. Until now! Garbology came into being during the pandemic, and at a time when Aesop was facing the loss of a close friend in January 2020, which left him in a non-creative phase. The world got really weird for a few months. He knew that at some point he had to start doing something again. Produce a beat. Draw. Write. Just get started. But producing felt like a math assignment, and drawing is hard. Writing is also hard, but at some point, he had to choose. He turned to writing and asked Blockhead to send him some beats. At first, there was no plan for an album, nor any particular plan beyond creating a few songs. However, it wasn't long before the songs multiplied and the album came into being. Garbology captures the soundtrack of the current era, a snapshot of Aesop and Block expressing a way to entertain themselves in a context of reduced social interactions, rooted in a mixture of fear, anger and extreme boredom. As for the album title, Aesop explains that garbology is defined as the study of materials discarded by a society, in order to learn what they reveal about social or cultural habits. There are many parallels between this and the idea of picking up the pieces after a loss or a period of intense turmoil, and seeing what is truly there. In addition, the idea of digging through the often overlooked music of another era with a careful ear to assimilate this data in a different way than the average listener, is exactly what Blockhead does. Dig into this record and see for yourself what you can find!","brand":"Aesop Rock X Blockhead","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55311937732952,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0826257033611.jpg?v=1760406602","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/aesop-rock-x-blockhead_garbology-vinyle-recycle_2021_mdl","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
