Sacrum profanum
Description
Adam Baldych and his quartet offers a unique sound, the union of classical music and free jazz. "Sacrum Profanum" is a conceptual album, the result of Adam Baldych's experiences and creative explorations. He decided to turn to sacred music, from the mystical medieval music of Hildegard of Bingen, through the renaissance of Thomas Tallis, to the contemporary Russian avant-garde Sofia Gubaidulina. The album also contains five new compositions by Adam Baldych. He considers the contemporary language of classical music and the spontaneity of jazz improvisation as his creative engines. Adam Baldych's new quartet is composed of unique musical personalities: Krzysztof Dys, Michal Baranski, and Dawid Fortuna. "Our performance combines what I love most in music: the nobility of the sound of classical music, the unbridled imagination of jazz, and the inspiration from the traditions of both." - Adam BaldychBuy Sacrum profanum at the best price
