Darren Cunningham's main alias, Actress, is behind some of the least predictable and classifiable electronic music of its era. Since his modest beginnings in 2004 with the six-track *No Tricks*, Cunningham has juggled a wide range of inspirations, including early-’80s funk and electro, art rock, raw and classic house, and noise, all while bringing a fresh spin to these forms for a decadent and disorienting effect.
