Description

The blend of electronic music and a classical orchestra has never been so breathtaking. Following the release of the EP "Audio Track 5" and his live shows at the Strelka Institute in Moscow, the Barbican Centre, and Tate Tanks in London, the iconic British musician and producer Darren Cunningham, aka Actress, teams up with the London Contemporary Orchestra to release the album "LAGEOS" on Ninja Tune, an album stemming from their collaboration. The project, originally a performance at the Barbican in 2016 commissioned by Boiler Room and the LCO with the support of Arts Council England and Ninja Tune, saw electronics and acoustics in perfect synergy, not only from a harmonic perspective but also in how traditional instruments were re-worked to create hybrid instruments. The show, a massive success that quickly sold out, prompted them to develop this project into an album.
