The wonderful world that ACHAB’s first album mocked is still being shaken by crises. Epidemics, bad weather, wars, authoritarian drifts - rarely has the present been so distressing and the future so bleak. In this new album, ACHAB's electro-rock thus becomes both darker and more aggressive, but also more ironic and festive. Faced with the temptation of resignation or cynicism, the band wants to reawaken the forces of poetry and laughter and reconnect with the instinct of revolt. In these new tracks, themes that had not yet been addressed are evoked. They refer to the issues and crises recently experienced (health crisis, #metoo, police violence, systemic racism). 13H12 is augmented with real and documentary sound material, like a collage. Samples are heard from everyday noises, pieces of film dialogue or archives, such as Captain Achab's famous soliloquy "the white whale is in me" or Guy Debord's words in In Girum imus nocte et consumimur igni. The overall coherence of the project is ensured by this electro-rock sound, which fuses all the cold modernity of electronics with the burning rage of the saturated and amplified instrument.
