Conceptually, 'Phylogenesis' delves into the fall of human society. The album title is a definition of the evolution (or diversification) of species. It illustrates an ironic observation by guitarist/vocalist Charles Elliott, namely the tendency of social networks to accelerate and exacerbate the capabilities of human interaction.
