A bold mix of soul, psychedelia, spaghetti western, disco, gospel, and hip-hop, *Into the Blue*, the second solo album from multi-instrumentalist Aaron Frazer (of Durand Jones & The Indications) showcases the impressive range of his sonic talents. He maintains the inimitable falsetto and classic songwriting that made his reputation, but places *Into The Blue* firmly in the present, with a hip-hop mentality at the album's core, weaving different genres and production methods to create something new. *Into The Blue* was conceived, like so many other classic records, from genuine heartbreak. Aaron left Brooklyn for Los Angeles and embarked on a journey that is reflected in the album's themes: sorrow, loneliness, and the search for healing. Aaron Frazer wrote every track and played multiple instruments on the album. The album features moments of grand arrangements, reminiscent of David Axelrod and Ennio Morricone, balanced by a raw edge, incorporating iPhone recordings and single-take vocals. For *Into the Blue*, Aaron Frazer enlisted Grammy winner Alex Goose as co-producer. Goose is known for his research and collaborations with hip-hop artists such as Freddie Gibbs, Madlib, and Brockhampton. Aaron also experimented with samples for the first time on a record, drawing from unexpected sources like 90s R&B group Hi-Five. Although *Into the Blue* was born from heartbreak, Aaron hopes it will leave listeners with a sense of optimism. Orange and green vinyl edition.
