2CELLOS explore the magic of cinema and television in their new album Score, reimagining the most beloved melodies from film and television with their unique sound. Score opens with an arrangement of the main theme from Game of Thrones by Ramin Djawadi, in which the driving sound of the cellos heralds each of what is perhaps the most anticipated episodes of contemporary television. The themes that inspired some of the greatest epics in film history are also revisited in new versions, such as the Oscar-winning favorites from James Horner's score for Titanic ("My Heart Will Go On"), John Williams' music for Schindler's List, and "For the Love of a Princess" from Braveheart (James Horner). The vocal beauty of the cello perfectly matches a series of romantic themes. Among these are the song "Moon River" by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer for Breakfast at Tiffany's; Ennio Morricone's magnificent theme for Cinema Paradiso; Nino Rota's love theme for The Godfather; Francis Lai's Oscar-winning theme for Love Story; Hans Zimmer's for Rain Man; and Stanley Myers' haunting "Cavatina," performed in The Deer Hunter. 2CELLOS have forged a unique style that transcends musical genres, from classical and film music to pop and rock.
