The internationally renowned 12 Ensemble return with their third studio album, Metamorphosis, recorded at the celebrated Abbey Rd. studios. From the divine nature of transformation to extraterrestrial visions of new worlds and rebirth, the leaderless 12 Ensemble explores Renaissance anthems reborn as futuristic prayers, ancient Japanese rituals, otherworldly opera arias and a monumental elegy that sees the ensemble muster its greatest forces to date. This deluxe double vinyl was created in collaboration with celebrated art director Ben Ditto, with photography by Greta Ilieva. Recorded at Abbey Road's Studio 2 in London, this high-quality edition is pressed in France from custom lacquer cut by Cicely Balston. Housed in a double gatefold package with gold foil embossing and UV spot varnish on the cover, the record includes a foreword by author Charlie Fox and sleeve notes by Hugh Morris. The luxurious 300gsm sleeve contains two double-sided slide-out record sleeves featuring further artwork from the series, plus a double-sided fold-out poster printed on 150gsm art paper.
