Since 2016, 070 Shake has built a solid reputation in the music world. Her dreamy, understated, and avant-garde tracks notably caught the attention of Kanye West, who, impressed by her first mixtape, signed her to his label for the release of her debut album: Modus Vivendi. 070 Shake is making her grand return with her new album 'Petrichor'!
Petrichor is a pleasant smell that often accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather. Coined by scientists Isabel Joy Bear and Richard Thomas in 1964, the word was invented from the Greek petros, meaning "stone," and ichor, meaning "the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods."
CULTURED MAG: "Shake – who was given the name Danielle Balbuena at birth – associates the scent with her New Jersey childhood. Her mother adored it and made her aware of its emergence whenever the skies opened. The musician hopes that when Petrichor is released this autumn, people will embrace it like a downpour in a drought: 'I hope they're ready to absorb it, that they’re thirsty and invigorated by it.'"
