Composed and arranged by Rahbani, who had previously produced Wahdon (1979) and Maarifti Feek (1987), Kifak Inta is a clever blend of oriental music, jazz, and funk, enhanced with Brazilian influences, all serving Fairuz's superb voice. Fairuz is a living legend and one of the greatest divas in the Arab World. She has been an integral part of the international music scene for over sixty years, releasing albums since the early 50s and performing concerts worldwide. When her husband Assi Rahbani fell ill in the mid-70s and the couple separated, Ziad, attuned to the sounds of the international scene at the time, took over the musical direction for Fairuz and began incorporating elements of jazz, funk, and bossa nova into her music. The collaboration, which began in 1979 with the album Wahdon and the funky classic Al Bosta, continued in 1983-84 with the album Maarifti Feek released in 1987, followed by Kifak Inta a few years later. The album follows the same pattern as Ziad Rahbani's previous productions for his mother and mixes traditional Arabic music (\"Farewell Song,\" \"It's Not a Problem\"), jazz-funk (\"Ya Leili Leili Leili\"), and bossa nova (\"Indi Thika Fik\"), all showcasing Ziad's superb orchestrations and refined arrangements. The crown jewel is the album's title track, \"Kifak Inta,\" a ballad written and composed by Ziad Rahbani. The track is sung by a woman opening her heart to her childhood sweetheart, now married to another woman, and confessing that she still loves him. The subject caused a stir when the album was released in a Lebanese society that was still conservative at the time. The track \"Prova,\" which closes side A, is a fascinating studio rehearsal of \"Kifak Inta\" with Ziad and Fairuz. Kifak Inta, available for the first time on vinyl, retains the design of the original cassette. The album—selected by Mario Choueiry of the Institut du Monde Arabe, who also wrote the liner notes—was recently remastered by Colorsound Studio in Paris.","brand":"فيروز","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55311889760600,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3700604741961.jpg?v=1760405611","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/%d9%81%d9%8a%d8%b1%d9%88%d8%b2_kifak-inta_2022_mdl","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
