The second album by the Belarusian trio Molchat Doma, (Etazhi / Floors), was first released in 2018 on Berlin-based Detriti Records. It became a viral hit, garnering over a million views on YouTube and becoming a phenomenon on Bandcamp. Remaining under the radar in their native Belarus, they reached a huge audience across Europe and beyond until they were signed by Sacred Bones Records. Founded in 2017 in Minsk, Belarus, Molchat Doma sits at the intersection of post-punk, new wave, and synth-pop. Dark yet danceable, and with a strong dose of gothic ethos, their music is reminiscent of the masters who came before them, but make no mistake, Molchat Doma has created a sound and universe all their own. The band consists of Egor Shkutko, who sings the Russian lyrics in a deep, monotone voice, Roman Komogortsev on guitar, synths, and drum machine, and Pavel Kozlov on bass and synths.
