Ween formed in 1984 as a duo with Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween) and Mickey Melchiondo (Dean Ween) before expanding to a full band setup in 1996. Their music defies easy categorization, spanning alternative rock, post-punk, psychedelic and country rock among others. Over the years, Ween released several studio albums and live records that have become sought-after on vinyl due to their distinctive style and limited pressings. Rhino Records currently handles many of their reissues, including colored vinyl editions in deluxe formats.
They officially ceased activity in August 2024 after a career that included a break starting in 2012 and a reunion from 2015, performing again live from 2016 onward.
