About

Traffic, Innovators of British psychedelic and progressive rock since 1967.

10 studio albums and live sets, original UK and US LPs with dynamic pricing across decades.

Traffic emerged from the vibrant Midlands music scene in the spring of 1967, initiated by Steve Winwood after departing the Spencer Davis Group. Alongside Jim Capaldi on drums, Chris Wood on flute and saxophone, and guitarist Dave Mason, the band navigated a unique mix of psychedelic, folk, and jazz rock. Their sound was notable for integrating diverse instruments including keyboards and woodwinds, and for combining improvisational jazz techniques with rock structures.

Their debut LP 'Mr. Fantasy' (1967) set the tone with a blend of blues, pop psychedelia and jazz elements, featuring compositions primarily by Winwood and Wood with Capaldi as lyricist and occasional distinct songwriting contributions from Mason.
