Admittedly, it is not the most innovative album we've had the chance to listen to, but what a delicious offering! More than pleasant melodies, and an ease of listening that remains essential. With the same authenticity, When It Falls is one of those albums that you listen to while lounging on a large, soft sofa, with dimmed lights and stress set aside; to criticize it would be to go against the very principle of the album. We find the graceful sound already present on Simple Things, characteristic of Zero 7, with that cozy, sometimes murky atmosphere, all mixed with a gentle melancholy. The vocals, very jazz-influenced and with glowing colors, feature some performers from the first album (Mozez, Sia Furler, Sophie Baker) as well as new ones (Tina Dico), truly beautiful voices that enhance the sensitivity of the melodies.
