{"product_id":"will-butler_generations_2020","title":"Generations","description":"Since the release of his first album Policy five years ago, Will Butler has traveled the world, both solo and as a member of Arcade Fire, released his live album Friday Night, recorded and released Arcade Fire's album Everything Now, earned his public policy degree from Harvard, visited town halls to discuss local issues (prison reform, paid sick leave from municipalities, voting rights), and spent time raising his three children. He also found the time and inspiration to write and record a new album, Generations. While his first album was a collection of short stories, this new album is more like a novel—sad, funny, epic. He questions his place in American history, as a protagonist in general regarding everything that is happening right now, but also more specifically as Will Butler, a white, affluent, Mormon, Yankee, parent, musician... While the songs on Generations contain a good deal of fears and regrets, there is always a light that shines through Will's music. Most of the songs were worked on live with Miles Francis, Sara Dobbs, Julie, and Jenny Shore, and the electricity is palpable throughout the album, which was recorded and produced by Will in his basement at home in Brooklyn. Half of the album was mixed in Montreal by Mark Lawson, Arcade Fire's longtime sound engineer, and the other half by Shiftee, a Brooklyn producer. Generations opens a dialogue with the world and navigates through this conversation to find the truth.","brand":"Will Butler","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58283304943960,"sku":null,"price":24036626.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0673855072029.jpg?v=1787784339","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/will-butler_generations_2020","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
