Inspired by the reflections of 60s and 70s British folk bands such as Fairport Convention and Pentangle, McIlwee settled in the Catskill Mountains and Abington Township, Pennsylvania, absorbing the landscape and trying to translate the beauty of his surroundings into an immersive experience. He began to craft a more colorful and descriptive body of work - still open-hearted, but where all desires and heartbreaks exist in a space that is both real and otherworldly. Not wanting the project to be defined by a genre, McIlwee worked with long-time collaborator Darcy Baylis, as well as Ben Greenberg, to continue bringing new styles and moods to WPSE.
