Dominated by the punchy approach of their rhythm section and Mark Stein's powerful Hammond organ playing, it became a top 10 hit in the U.S. The band's self-titled debut album was released in August 1967 and was a true tour de force of psychedelic rock, featuring a seven-minute version of \"You Keep Me Hanging On,\" as well as imaginative covers of compositions by The Beatles, The Zombies, and Curtis Mayfield, among others. Over the next two years, VANILLA FUDGE recorded a series of albums that evolved from psychedelic rock to heavy rock and influenced many emerging bands, including Deep Purple, before disbanding in 1970. This nine-CD box set has been remastered from the original Atco tapes and includes the albums \"VANILLA FUDGE\" and \"THE BEAT GOES ON\" (in both mono and stereo versions) and \"RENAISSANCE,\" \"NEAR THE BEGINNING,\" and \"ROCK \u0026 ROLL.\" The first five albums recorded between 1967 and 1969!
