{"product_id":"umse_durch-die-wolkendecke_2025_pia","title":"Durch Die Wolkendecke","description":"Reissue of the 2018 album! Umse is a child of the Ruhr region – and an eternal traveler. A hardworking MC with stamina, which is finally paying off. The top-20 artist charted with his last two albums \"Kunst für sich\" (#36) and \"Haiwanischer Schnee\" (#16), which were released via the indie institution Jakarta Records. For his new album, he took two years, had to overcome setbacks to be able to go \"Durch die Wolkendecke\". Today he presents \"Bescheid\", the first video from his new album, which will be released on September 28. In two years, a lot has accumulated: lyrics and experiences. Umse only released the 6-track \"Flammenwerfer\" EP in May and now a new album at the end of September. The Ruhr region rapper, who stands in a tradition of virtue alongside local legends RAG and Too Strong yet sounds state of the art, toured the country for years and earned an excellent reputation as a live MC from Konstanz to Kiel. Over the years, Umse has built a loyal fanbase that appreciates his down-to-earth nature. He embodies old-school values, combines technique and depth, and reconciles rap generations with his neo-boombap concept. \"Durch Die Wolkendecke\" consistently continues this path while showing new impulses and perspectives. The title already suggests it gets darker and more thoughtful; but it also symbolically stands for: \"Sky is the limit\". This limit is far from reached for the grown-man rapper: he is neither a stuck-in-the-past old-schooler nor a face-tattooed mumble rapper, yet his blinkers-free, sample-heavy trademark sound thrives in the here and now. Sometimes the sing-song hooks recall early 50 Cent, sometimes the crowd-control choruses of Dilated Peoples. The regional and travel are two constants and extremes that seem to run through Umse's career. After he rented a country house in the Dutch province with in-house producer Deckah for the production of \"Hawaianischer Schnee\", they flew all the way to Colorado and Tenerife for \"Durch Die Wolkendecke\". The track \"Wenn Die Ferne Ruft\" addresses this wanderlust, which is so inspiring for Umbeck, with striking lines: \"You do it again when you realize travel works wonders.\" The opener \"Bescheid\" is only superficially a representer and reveals upon closer listening mature reflections of a man in his mid-thirties. On \"Mach Das Kleine Groß\", Umse shows dialectical talent, moving from the big to the small, from the local to the global, from himself as an individual to society and the scene. The touching outro \"Jederzeit\" sounds like a kind of testament, with which Umse permanently immortalizes himself in the real-rap annals as one of the most important voices of his generation. Umse once said something along these lines about the longevity of albums: \"Nobody gives a damn how long you worked on it, what counts is how long they","brand":"Umse","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55443252773208,"sku":null,"price":23919736.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0673790033987.jpg?v=1760466464","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/umse_durch-die-wolkendecke_2025_pia","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
