{"product_id":"the-traveling-wilburys_the-traveling-wilburys-vol3_2017_uni","title":"The Traveling Wilburys \/vol.3","description":"Travelling Wilburys: the accidental formation of the best rock group of all time: 28 years ago, by a happy coincidence, five giants of music found themselves in the same studio and accidentally formed the best supergroup of all time. The album \"Cloud Nine\" by George Harrison was already a success, and the record label Warner Records asked Harrison to record a B-side for the fifth single from the album, the track \"This Is Love.\" Harrison and his producer Jeff Lynne decided it would be nice to collaborate with Roy Orbison. The three men then went to Bob Dylan's to use his private studio. However, once there, Harrison realized he had forgotten one of his guitars at Tom Petty's. While going to get it, the former Beatle decided to invite the performer of \"American Girl\" to the recording session. The five men ultimately all participated in the recording of the track \"Handle with Care.\" Once the track was presented to the record label executives, they found it far too good to be used only as a B-side. The five men enjoyed working together so much that the idea was launched to record a full album. The album \"Traveling Wilburys \/vol. 1\" was recorded in 10 days in May 1988, and its twelve tracks were all written by the members of the group. \"Handle with Care\" became the first track on the album and also the first single to be released from it. To this day, few vocal performances have been as touching as Roy Orbison's on this track. The album also contains the track \"Tweeter and the Monkey Man.\" This track was written by Bob Dylan and is a pseudo-tribute to Bruce Springsteen. Early in his career, Springsteen was often said to be the next Bob Dylan. The album ends very appropriately with \"End of the Line,\" which became one of the biggest hits of the album. To create a kind of mythology, each member of the group invented a pseudonym with the last name Wilbury. Nelson Wilbury (George Harrison), Otis Wilbury (Jeff Lynne), Charlie T. Wilbury Jr (Tom Petty), Lefty Wilbury (Roy Orbison), Lucky Wilbury (Bob Dylan). \"Traveling Wilburys \/vol. 1\" was such a big success, selling over two million copies, that a second volume was released in 1990. Ironically, the album was called \"Traveling Wilburys \/vol. 3.\" The idea came from George Harrison, who liked the idea of people searching in vain for volume 2. However, the group's dynamic had changed significantly since the tragic death of Roy Orbison in 1988.","brand":"The Traveling Wilburys","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57687751885144,"sku":null,"price":23528807.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/the-traveling-wilburys_the-traveling-wilburys-vol3_2017_uni","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
