The set includes the entire concert performed by the band at the Rainbow Theatre in London on March 11, 1978, as well as the 9 tracks that make up the American album Live Spirit from 1979. In March 1978, Spirit embarked on a series of concerts in Germany and the UK with a lineup of RANDY CALIFORNIA (guitar, vocals), LARRY \"FUZZY\" KNIGHT (bass, vocals), and ED CASSIDY (drums). The shows played by the trio were exceptional, but perhaps the most memorable was the one at the Rainbow in London. With a sold-out venue, the band performed classic songs such as Mr. Skin, Animal Zoo, 1984, Nature's Way, All the Same, and I Got a Line on You. Spirit also played six encores, including covers of All Along the Watchtower, Stone Free, and Wild Thing. Recorded with the intention of releasing a live album, fortunately, a separate recording was made using a source from the house soundboard, and from these tapes, it was possible to prepare a recording of the entire performance by the band on March 11, 1978. TWO SIDES OF A RAINBOW – Live at the Rainbow 1978 was compiled by Spirit's archivist and curator, Mick Skidmore, and also includes nine newly remastered bonus tracks from the Live Spirit album. This version also contains a new essay by Mick Skidmore and memories from Larry \"Fuzzy\" Knight. The set also includes many period photographs.
