Inspired by a certain distance she felt from herself, the writing somehow came out of that desire to recover an intimacy, an honesty, with herself. Other inspirations include kissing, long walks in nature, her mother, and also winter and all that it allows, particularly being at home alone, wrapped in something warm, feeling things deeply. Her list of inspirations is a collection of types of touch: the loving and fleeting touch, the brush of a knit blanket, the invigorating sensation of feeling one’s own skin paired in another palm.
