As often happens, they decided to write their own songs, which ended up on the demo \"Blood \u0026amp; Honour\" in 1984. All that remained was to get rid of the name reminiscent of Iron Maiden and call themselves Taramis. In 1987, the first album \"Queen Of Thieves\" was released on the small label Metal For Melbourne (actually a record store). The songs it contains have their own magic, and the material is readily compared to epic metal. Emotionally charged acoustic parts alternate with powerful heavy metal, all with great virtuosity. However, the budget for the recording was so low that the LP is often described as a rough diamond. But that is also what gives it all its charm, as albums by bands like Manilla Road or Satan's Host still prove today. After all, the album was licensed by Metal Blade Records in 1988 (with different cover artwork). Roadrunner Records followed the same year for Europe. Despite this, \"Queen Of Thieves\" remained an open secret for connoisseurs. After some lineup changes, Taramis reappeared in 1991 with a second album. This time, the German company Rising Sun secured the rights (in Australia, it was again Metal For Melbourne that was the label) and released \"Stretch Of The Imagination\" on CD and LP. The stylistic shift towards progressive metal (with thrash influences) certainly won new fans, but the label was unable to adequately promote the Australians. By 1991, a different wind was already blowing in music. Taramis disbanded, but reunites irregularly to give isolated concerts for its still significant fan base.For the first time, the LP is reissued in remastered form (both albums had already been released by Golden Core as a double CD with bonus tracks).
