{"product_id":"squid_sludge_2020_dif","title":"Sludge","description":"Formed in Brighton, Squid is the brainchild of Louis Borlase (Guitars and vocals), Ollie Judge (Drums and lead vocals), Arthur Leadbetter (Keyboards, Strings), Laurie Nankivell (Bass and brass) and Anton Pearson (Guitars and vocals). In March 2020, Squid released a new widescreen single \"Sludge\", the track sees the group teaming up again with Dan Carey, recently awarded \"Producer of the Year\" (Black Midi, Fontaines DC, Kate Tempest). The release of 'Sludge' was announced by WarpRecords. They are considered one of the most exciting new discoveries in England in recent years: SQUID with their perpetual collision of punk, jazz and delicate electronics. Thematically, Squid's previous releases were more character-focused - songs like 'The Cleaner', 'Houseplants' and 'Match Bet' all saw Squid looking at the people around them and how the world affected them - but on 'Sludge', the group finds itself in a more introspective state of mind; simultaneously seeking broader commentary, but approaching it with idiosyncratic and enthusiastic precision, without giving up experimentation and without falling into gloom. Squid closed a successful 2019 with the news of their entry into the prestigious BBC \"Sound Of 2020\" longlist. The band's EP 'Town Center', was released on the Speedy Wunderground label, the legendary singles label's first EP - sold out before release - a second pressing is currently available. We can look forward to Squid's debut album in 2021, produced by Dan Carey.","brand":"Squid","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57379736846680,"sku":null,"price":23600540.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0801061944315.jpg?v=1779891821","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/squid_sludge_2020_dif","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
