Formed in 2022 and taking their name from Charles Baudelaire’s Paris Spleen, they released their first tape on Roachleg Records in 2023, delivering five post-punk tracks inspired by the colder side of French bands like Camera Silens, DEM, and later Blitz. After adding a new sixth member on synthesizer, their second demo was released on Roachleg just a month ago, taking on new influences from 60s and 80s psychedelic garage rock and developing a unique sound that is hard to categorize. Much like the latest Duc d’Oi! EP by Criminal, imagine 80s French punk rockers (I’m thinking Identité X) meeting somewhere with Californian Paisley Underground dreamers (The Dream Syndicate, of course) and you’ll get the vibe. And if you think that’s strange for people who also play in Oi and BM bands, just remember that Blitz covered Lou Reed’s Vicious back in 1982, so you shouldn’t be surprised. With all that just said, we simply couldn’t pass up pressing both EPs onto one tasty 12-inch vinyl compilation, one demo per side, with new sci-fi-influenced artwork by Dan and Mathias from the band.","brand":"Spleen","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55307176771928,"sku":null,"price":23999394.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/5056321697530_ef1ffff3-9333-4810-9aa7-10ef2af8fd38.jpg?v=1760311762","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/spleen_demos_2025_dif","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
