{"product_id":"sophie-alour_le-temps-virtuose-vinyl_2023_lad","title":"LE TEMPS VIRTUOSE (vinyl)","description":"Time shapes, transforms, and reveals the artist to themselves; it is an essential element of the artistic process. In this new work, with a title close to an oxymoron, Sophie Alour continues her quest for self, far from genre codes and freed from any idea of performance. Diluting the perception of time, moving from reverie to hypnotic rhythms, she alchemically blends all the sources of her inspiration. Between Pierre Perchaud's acoustic guitar, Guillaume Latil's cello sound—which offers the possibility of a two-voice song with the tenor saxophone whose tessitura it shares—and Anne Paceo's minimalist drumming, Sophie Alour embraces the constraint imposed by this formation to make it a tool for refined and expressionistic writing. BIO: Sophie Alour is on her ninth project as a leader. In 2022, she received the Victoire in the 'Artist of the Year' category. She was awarded the prestigious 'Django Reinhardt' prize for her entire career in 2021, as well as the medal of the Chevaliers des Arts et des Lettres from Minister Roselyne Bachelot in March 2022. Her career, recent accolades, and this album with a title like a self-fulfilling prophecy attest to a musician in full maturity who is at a key moment in her artistic life. Born in 1974, Sophie Alour began playing the saxophone as a self-taught musician at 19, after studying clarinet at the Quimper conservatory. She learned jazz on stage, in vivo, and collaborations followed from the 2000s, notably with Wynton Marsalis, the Belmondo brothers, Aldo Romano, and Laurent Coq. ... She has released eight albums under her own name, all critically acclaimed (Choc jazzman, ffff Télérama, disque d'émoi, etc.). Today, she has been part of Rhoda Scott's quartet for fifteen years and regularly plays with drummer Leon Parker, with Christophe Dal Sasso's big band, and has been seen alongside Glenn Ferris, Biréli Lagrène, Jeff Ballard, Ambrose Akimusire, the Belmondo brothers, André Ceccarelli, Geraldine Laurent, Éric Le Lann, Alain Jean Marie, Airelle Besson, the ONJ, Manu Katché, Thomas Dutronc, etc. Her career is punctuated by numerous nominations and distinctions: Django d'or 2007 for young talent, Génération Spedidam 2018, nomination for the Victoires in 2019 and then 2020. A career culminating with the prestigious Prix Django Reinhardt 2020 from the Académie du Jazz and a Victoire in the 'Instrumental Artist of the Year' category in 2022. \"IT'S HARD NOT TO BE IMMEDIATELY CAPTIVATED BY SO MUCH DELICACY AND SENSUALITY COMBINED.\" --- JAZZ MAGAZINE ---. \"SOPHIE ALOUR, THE PHRASING AND SOUND OF THE ANGELS OF JAZZ.\" --- LE MONDE ---. \"The leader with a powerful, telluric, yet comforting sound.\" --- JAZZ MAGAZINE ---. \"THE YOUNG WOMAN'S COMPOSITIONS ARE AMONG THE MOST CAPTIVATING ON THE CURRENT JAZZ SCENE.\" --- LE MONDE ---.","brand":"Sophie Alour","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55310246805848,"sku":null,"price":23896354.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3521381579109_919adea1-36d2-460d-bf90-28ca04d1a231.jpg?v=1760318484","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/sophie-alour_le-temps-virtuose-vinyl_2023_lad","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
