{"product_id":"radio-birdman_radios-appear_2014","title":"Radios appear","description":"Vinyl reissue: Radios Appear, released in 1977, is the first album by the Australian punk-rock band Radio Birdman. Radios Appear later became an utterly cult album, on the same level as the first Clash, the Sex Pistols record, Heartbreakers’ L.A.M.F. or Wire’s Pink Flag. Radios Appear (whose title comes from the song Dominance And Submission by Blue Öyster Cult, from 1974, the year Radio Birdman was formed) offers a few perfect punk blasts: Hand Of Law, Descent Into The Maelstrom (the title of an Edgar Allan Poe short story, incidentally), Murder City Nights, Love Kills... as well as a powerful cover of a fuckin’ Stooges classic, TV Eye, which also kicks off the festivities\/hostilities. The band is made up of six members, a rare thing for a punk band: two guitarists (Deniz Tek, Chris Mazuak), a bassist (Warwick Gilbert), a drummer (Ron Keeley), a pianist and organist (Pip Hoyle), and singer Rob Younger. Mazuak plays piano on Descent Into The Maelstrom. Yes, there is piano in Radio Birdman, a punk band, but with a strong pure rock feel all the same! This first proper Radio Birdman record, a huge success upon release (in the middle of the punk wave, the album earned a 5-star rating, probably the maximum score, in the Australian edition of Rolling Stone Magazine), is a record as effective as possible. Small budget, big means, immense impact, here is one of the most cult bands there is, and the best Australian band along with AC\/DC (but in a different register) and Nick Cave (yes, not a band, but still, he is Australian)!","brand":"Radio Birdman","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58783274762584,"sku":null,"price":22931799.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/NDItMTcwMi5qcGVn.jpg?v=1791935048","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/radio-birdman_radios-appear_2014","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
