{"product_id":"pierre-lapointe_la-science-du-coeur_2017_son","title":"La science du coeur","description":"Pierre Lapointe presents La science du coeur, a work that examines the meanders of romantic feelings. Setting a new milestone in the abundant journey of a free and inspired artist, this record skillfully grafts together French song, contemporary music, and orchestral music. \"?The lyrics are rooted in the tradition of realistic song while the music is very Reichian?\" explains Pierre Lapointe, who here refers to Steve Reich, the New York composer and pioneer of minimalism. The instrumentation, including the contribution of the string ensemble of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal conducted by Simon Leclerc, gives a classical color to the pieces. On this new album, the songwriter takes a clear-eyed and uncompromising look at love in the digital age, at a time when the image has never occupied so much space. Sometimes raw and ruthless (\" La science du coeur, Qu'il est honteux d'être humain, Sais-tu vraiment qui tu es \"), sometimes moving and filled with fragile hope (\" Le retour d'un amour, Prince charmant, Une lettre \"), Pierre Lapointe digs beneath the surface with surgical precision, revealing dysfunctions and contradictions. \"?La science du coeur is an object of abstraction propelled by the desire of sad people to be touched?\" he sings in the title track. Recorded in Montreal and mixed in Paris, the album La science du coeur is the result of a close collaboration with David François Moreau, a French musician, composer, and arranger who works in the fields of song, film, dance, and theater. \"?This is a meeting like few happen in a career,\" mentions Pierre Lapointe. David François had attended my show Paris tristesse while he was passing through Montreal. We then got to know each other and quickly discovered real artistic affinities.\" In addition to the arrangements and production, David François Moreau composed four pieces. Félix Dyotte (Zopiclone) and Daniel Bélanger (Une lettre) also contributed to the composition. Halfway between classicism and avant-garde, La science du coeur brings the concept album back to life. \"?This record was designed to be listened to without interruption?\" can be read in the booklet created by Pascal Blanchet and adorned with a photo of John Londoño. By engaging in the exercise, one realizes that each song feeds into the next, creating a romantic journey from which one does not emerge unscathed. La science du coeur will be launched simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic. A production of Audiogram, this record marks for Pierre Lapointe the beginning of a collaboration with Columbia, a label of Sony Music France.","brand":"Pierre Lapointe","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57687805854040,"sku":null,"price":23528793.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/pierre-lapointe_la-science-du-coeur_2017_son","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
