After working on writing the album throughout the spring, the band then kicked off the festival season with performances at major festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop and many others during Summer 2023. Kings Of The Asylum picks up where We're The Bastards left off with timeless and effective anthems that all fans will welcome with open arms. Limited edition digibook version containing 1 bonus track. Limited edition purple LP version. Originally formed as a side project in the last two years of Motorhead by Phil Campbell, Motorhead's former 32-year guitarist, the band decided to take it to the next level and revealed the new name PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS at Wacken Open Air 2016. An eponymous EP was released a few months later. Led by one of the most respected guitarists in the genre and completed by his sons Todd, Tyla, and Dane, the band emerged on the 2017 touring circuit propelled by a huge amount of goodwill, a handful of Motorhead covers, and a handful of new songs that crackled with passion and swagger. After securing a prestigious support slot on the GUNS N' ROSES 2017 summer stadium run, the BASTARD SONS started to race. By the time the band released their debut album, 'The Age Of Absurdity', in January 2018, this honest rock 'n' roll venture had naturally blossomed into a pretty big deal. The album garnered excellent reviews, winning the \"Best Debut Album\" award at the 2018 Metal Hammer Germany awards. Two years later, recorded and engineered during lockdown by guitarist Todd Campbell, the second album was just the tonic people needed. It was called 'We're The Bastards' and it was bigger, better and even more uplifting than its predecessor with 40 top chart entries in 4 countries! Shortly after the band announced to the world the recruitment of powerful new vocalist Joel Peters in January 2022, the band entered their studio at Stompbox Studios, in South Wales, UK and began writing and recording the album in early 2022. After laying the songwriting foundations throughout the spring, the bastards then entered their busiest festival season to date, including performances at major festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting and many others throughout summer 2023. After the busy festival season, the band then had time to reunite again to put the finishing touches on their new album, 'Kings Of The Asylum'. Phil Campbell commented: \"It was a great experience writing this album alongside Joel and the rest of my lads. We've come up with monstrous riffs and hooks for your listening pleasure. We can't wait to play some of these songs in some of our favourite old towns and visit new places too!\" Joel Peters added: \"I've had so much fun working on this album alongside Phil and the boys and it's an album I'm immensely proud of! I can't wait for everyone to hear it and tour these songs for the first time! We have some definite firecrackers here!\" 'Kings Of The Asylum' picks up where 'We're The Bastards' left off: you get eleven tracks of hard-hitting, honest-to-the-bone heavy rock, including remarkable singles such as the stadium rock anthem \"Strike The Match\" and the fast-paced banger 'Too Much Is Never Enough'. This is the definitive version of PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS - the band has further perfected their timeless yet invigorating hard rock and they can't wait to present their explosive new material live this autumn... on stages all over Europe!","brand":"Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55404228247896,"sku":null,"price":23896222.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/4065629696450.jpg?v=1760388087","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/phil-campbell-and-the-bastard-sons_kings-of-the-asylum_2023_war","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
