During the 2013\/14 season, he made his debut with the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic. Also recognized for his work on the music of our time, Pablo Heras-Casado is the winner of the 2007 edition of the conductor's forum at the Lucerne Festival, where he returned twice at the invitation of Pierre Boulez as co-director of the festival academy. Furthermore, he often performs with the Ensemble intercontemporain. He holds the Medalla de Honor from the Rodriguez Acosta Foundation and the Gold Medal of Merit from the City Council of Granada, his hometown. His DVD of Weill's Grandeur and Decadence of the City of Mahagonny with the Teatro Real, released in 2011, won the Diapason d'or. This recording marks his debut with harmonia mundi. Schubert is not yet out of his teens when he writes six early symphonies. The carefree 3rd from 1815 ends with a Rossinian tarantella. Darker, the 4th (1816) looks towards Beethoven; the nickname \"tragic\" comes from the 16-year-old composer himself. But the true tragedy lies undoubtedly in the fact that this symphony, like all its siblings, will never be performed in public during his lifetime and will have to wait until 1849 for its premiere.
