William Sabatier has been performing for 30 years alongside the Orchestre national Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Together they have played numerous works by Piazzolla, both in Clermont-Ferrand and in the region, including the triumphant performances of María de Buenos Aires at the Nuits de Fourvière in Lyon in 2021. This album is the culmination of this deep and exciting artistic relationship. William Sabatier was particularly involved in this recording: researching the repertoire, creating arrangements for bandoneon and string orchestra while placing excellence at the heart of the project to best serve the wonderful music of Astor Piazzolla.
