Following this tour, Neil Ardley reworked the material for studio adaptation, giving it its definitive form. The album was subsequently recorded at London’s Morgan Studios, under the guidance of Martin Levan, and released in 1976 on the legendary independent label Gull Records.Structured around the seven colours of the rainbow, Ardley’s suite creates a musical spectrum oscillating harmoniously between pastoral beauty, explosive improvisation, and cosmic exploration.This release, in mid-December, will be available as a limited and hand-numbered edition of 1,000 copies worldwide. Spread across two vinyl records for optimal dynamics and meticulously mastered, it offers the most faithful and revealing representation of Kaleidoscope of Rainbows ever pressed on vinyl.For this special reissue, the original 15 ips analogue master tapes were entrusted to renowned mastering engineer Miles Showell of Abbey Road Studios, who created a half-speed master cut of astonishing clarity and depth. This meticulous process reveals new dimensions to Ardley's compositions, uncovering textures and details that have remained hidden for nearly half a century.To fully preserve the exceptional dynamics of the original tapes, the music was presented on two LPs, giving the entire work the space it needs to breathe. The result is a pressing that brings Ardley’s vision to life with unparalleled presence and nuance.Precisely pressed at Record Industry in the Netherlands, this reissue guarantees optimal fidelity, pressed to perfection. The visual and tactile elements have been designed with the same care: Selsey Press returns to provide beautifully printed sleeves and inserts, setting a new benchmark for our reissues.Produced with love from start to finish by Craig Crane, this edition uses the original four CMYK film sheets for the cover: no scans, no shortcuts. Eighteen months of work went into it, and every detail was handled with the utmost care. This reissue not only expands Analogue October Records’ catalogue but also continues the label’s momentum, buoyed by glowing reviews for our first two reissues from both the audiophile community and the wider music press.","brand":"Neil Ardley","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55948422545752,"sku":null,"price":23920221.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/5070002387121.jpg?v=1766773308","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/neil-ardley_kaleidoscope-of-rainbows180gimpex-style-heavy-duty-outer-sleeve-wflapsealed-with-analogue-october-records-sticker-hype-sticker_2025_dif","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
