{"product_id":"moskito_idolar_2025_mdl","title":"Idolar","description":"It was in the bustling streets of Tembisa, South Africa, amidst the sprawling conurbation linking Johannesburg and Pretoria, that the story of Moskito began. Formed in 2001, with limited resources, the group displayed immense creativity, recording demos using two cassette decks and instrumental tracks by other artists. In the same year, the group released its debut album, Idolar, under the Tammy Music label. The album was an undeniable success, attracting dedicated fans across South Africa and neighbouring countries such as Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. Moskito collaborated with industry legends such as Chilly Mthiya Tshabalala, known for his work with Thiza and Spoke \"H.\" They drew inspiration from Thami Mdluli, also known as Professor Rhythm, who dominated the disco scene in the 80s and 90s. Mdluli contributed to the musical arrangements and produced the album. The group drew inspiration from South African Kwaito icons such as Trompies, Mdu, Mandoza, and Arthur Mafokate, as well as international heavyweights. Moskito created a sound all their own, a perfect blend of local flavour and global influence.","brand":"Moskito","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55311919645016,"sku":null,"price":23919399.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0843563184691_bfd8d10c-4921-48fc-a900-0a64edd1804e.jpg?v=1765824259","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/moskito_idolar_2025_mdl","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
