Recorded with producer Thomas Brenneck of the Menahan Street Band, with an open-door policy during sessions, a stream of acclaimed musicians came together on the 10 tracks of the album, including Nick Hakim, Brazilian guitarist Rogê, Leland Whitty and Chester Hansen from the Canadian instrumental group Badbadnotgood, the Chicano soul group Thee Sacred Souls, experimental jazz pianist Marco Benevento, and Leon Michels from the band El Michels Affair.
