{"product_id":"memory-lane_memory-lane-vinyl_2023_lad","title":"MEMORY LANE (vinyl)","description":"Drummer and composer often working in the shadows, Damien Elcock a.k.a. Luke Warmcop (Phat Dat, Guess What, Orchestre du Montplaisant) has finally concocted a collection of \"folk-tronic\" songs, poetic and rhythmic, under the enigmatic name of \"Memory Lane.\" Through the eleven tracks of this eponymous album, as intimate as it is groovy, Warmcop explores the human soul and nature, but also gets us moving to crazy beats, inviting us to reinvent dance. The album opens with a very cinematic instrumental track, \"Striking Second First,\" whose melody evokes the film scores of composer Ahmed Malek, and which develops over an electronic beat with a Carpenter-esque tempo. First led by synthesizers and the Clavinet, the themes are then played by Warmcop's second favorite instrument: the trumpet. The cornerstone of the album, the enchanting \"Turtle Dove\" is sung - in English - by Giorgio Poi, one of the most prominent singers of the new Italian pop scene; while Antonin Voyant's guitar (Phat Dat, Derya Yildirim \u0026 Grup Simsek) reveals the majestic theme. The tracks \"Unlock The Door,\" \"Blue Sky Blue,\" or \"Génération de Merde\" have the particularity of combining danceable grooves - although played on unusual meters - with melodic progressions that can recall the piano works of New York composer Moondog. While the verses of English poet William Blake are quoted in \"The Pride Of The Peacock,\" the other songs evoke love, death, and more courageous subjects like aging; or philosophical reflections on the human condition, often linked to larger and elusive forces, spiritual or natural. On the gentle and dreamy track \"Terrible Lizards,\" Warmcop invites his longtime friend Coco Maria (now a renowned DJ and radio host) to sing \"'After the grand theft - all that's left - is the softness of a pillow, the daily pain - The wind in the willow and the taste of rain.\" The multiple musical and literary influences of Memory Lane make it a rich, peculiar, unclassifiable album. It has a pronounced spirit and style, and a taste for audacious grooves. If you didn't grasp everything on the first listen, play the record a second time; because the sonic universe of 'Memory Lane', curious and magical at the same time, is one of those that deserves to grow within us.","brand":"Memory Lane","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55310246609240,"sku":null,"price":23975951.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3521381579147_42ffcedc-8de7-4ab4-9cd6-a2b1e55ee30c.jpg?v=1760318486","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/memory-lane_memory-lane-vinyl_2023_lad","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
