{"product_id":"mark-van-hoen_plan-for-a-miracle_2024_dif","title":"Plan For A Miracle","description":"\"I enjoy working with a variety of instruments and setups,\" says Mark Van Hoen, sometimes known as Locust or Autocreation, but here working under his own name on the excellent Plan For A Miracle, his first physical release under his own name since 2018's Invisible Threads. Born in Croydon, VanHoen began his musical life in the early 1990s, signing to R\u0026S records in 1993, but developing his own myriad and distinctive style across a series of releases on Touch, Editions Mego and other labels, using a battery of instruments, including analogue synthesizers, and adopting a number of different approaches to recording, rather than ploughing one single sonic furrow. Every track on Plan For A Miracle does indeed sound like a world unto itself, a mini-environment, a weather condition, an ecosystem created for the moment. Sadly, the album's title refers to a personal tragedy of Van Hoen's – the loss of his wife. Track titles such as \"I Won't Give Up\", which is slightly reminiscent of another Eno masterpiece, Another Green World, in its nautical feel, or the heavily sadness-tinged pastoral accents of \"Mrs Who\", appear to hint at this. \"In fact,\" Van Hoen explains, \"the record was recorded entirely before her death, most of it before she was even very ill.\" The title was given to the album when it became apparent that she wouldn't last more than a few months. \"It's a phrase from Osho – 'plan for a miracle' – and so it was a statement of hope.\"","brand":"Mark Van Hoen","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55307240800600,"sku":null,"price":23981323.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/5051142010230_6754471e-02d5-4702-9ce8-63e710dbd7c1.jpg?v=1760309097","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/mark-van-hoen_plan-for-a-miracle_2024_dif","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
