Over the past decade, Lanegan and Garwood have released the album Black Pudding (2013) together and worked on Mark Lanegan's solo albums (Garwood contributed to Blues Funeral (2012) and Gargoyle (2017), for which he also participated in the tour). The writing and recording took place in the studio and by sharing music between Garwood's home in London and Lanegan's in Los Angeles.
