{"product_id":"marion-brown_le-temps-fou_2021_mdl","title":"Le Temps Fou","description":"In 1967, the 36-year-old saxophonist Marion Brown already had a very successful career in the United States. Among other things, he participated in Coltrane's \"Ascension\" and Archie Shepp's \"Fire Music,\" played with Sun Ra and Pharoah Sanders, and recorded several albums under his own name for the renowned avant-garde jazz label ESP Disk. That year, he nevertheless decided to move to Europe, where he met German saxophonist and vibraphonist Gunter Hampel. Accompanied by Steve McCall (drums and percussion), Barre Philips (double bass), Alain Corneau (bells), and Ambrose Jackson (trumpet), they recorded in 1969 at the legendary Parisian Davout studio, the soundtrack for Marcel Camus's film \"Le Temps Fou.\" This film, which notably starred Nino Ferrer, was released in 1970 under the title \"Un Été Sauvage\" and, unfortunately, it cannot be said to have made its mark on cinematic history. Forgotten, only its two soundtracks (there is also a 45 rpm record with tracks composed by Richard de Bordeaux and Daniel Beretta) are still talked about. Initially released on Privilège, a Polydor sub-label, this soundtrack for \"Le Temps Fou,\" composed by Marion Brown and Barre Philips, was pressed in very limited quantities and is now virtually impossible to find as an original pressing. It took more than fifty years for it to finally be re-released, to the great delight of free jazz enthusiasts and film music collectors.","brand":"Marion Brown","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55311892709720,"sku":null,"price":0.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/3700604735854.jpg?v=1760405662","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/marion-brown_le-temps-fou_2021_mdl","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
