However, for this complete recording, we decided to take the risk of seeking a sound world that best matches what we imagine of Schubert's music, this research leading us to try 19th-century pianos. We thus came across a marvelous Blüthner from 1857. The condition of this 2.20-meter instrument is exceptional—the soundboard having never been replaced, one can say the sound is as it was over 150 years ago.
