Although originally released 13 years ago, it has recently started catching the ears of house and balearic connoisseurs in the UK, with appearances in the epic sets of the Idjut Boys. The version in question was released in 2012 as part of a digital-only EP. It is a gem from Chilean DJ, producer and singer Mamacita (Carolina Vallejos) and producer Sebastian Roman, aka Persona RS. Recorded on lo-fi equipment (an old Windows laptop and a borrowed Neumann microphone), it is a nod to the DIY ethos of early Chicago productions. The result is a cosmic, stripped-down and off-kilter version of a timeless classic, full of muffled synths and Carolina's superb Spanish vocals, which became a hit in clubs on the Chilean underground circuit.
