Zimmer approached the project with the same rigor as a feature film, aware of the scope of Peter Morgan's vision. Gregson-Williams recalls long discussions to craft a theme that was both regal and contained, while Balfe emphasizes the evolution of the music in parallel with that of the Queen, from ingenue to assertive monarch. From Season 3 onwards, Martin Phipps took over, balancing the legacy of his predecessors with a new identity adapted to entering a new era.
