{"product_id":"life-of-agony_river-runs-red_2026_disco-bertus-france","title":"River Runs Red","description":"Does the term \"concept album\" bring to mind grand orchestral choirs and strange mythological creatures? Well, this album is about to change your mind... forever. River Runs Red, released in 1993, is indeed a concept album, but its themes include alcoholism, physical violence, and ultimately, suicide. The record interweaves dramatic, staged vignettes that tell the story of a troubled teenager on the brink of self-harm, between deeply personal songs written by bassist Alan Robert, whose style oscillates between New York hardcore, gloom metal, and grunge. The intensity keeps building until River Runs Red ends with the sound of blood from a suicide attempt flowing into bathwater... which would normally warrant a spoiler warning, except that throughout the album, the protagonist's trajectory seems to lead in only one direction. With such a storyline, cult album status is almost inevitable, but in this case, it is well deserved; River Runs Red is not just one of the greatest concept or metal albums ever made. It is simply one of the most powerful records ever made, across all genres. A previous vinyl reissue sold very well, but it has been out of print for over ten years; our remastered vinyl version is pressed on a transparent sleeve with red and blue swirling patterns, manufactured at Gotta Groove Records and accompanied by a booklet. A masterpiece.","brand":"Life Of Agony","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57317245944152,"sku":null,"price":23931308.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0848064021278.jpg?v=1779111491","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/life-of-agony_river-runs-red_2026_disco-bertus-france","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
