The Cello Concerto and Orchestra dates from 2012. It was written for Sophie Shao in the spirit of the Piano Concerto. Sophie Shao has achieved brilliant success at the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, and at the Rostropovich and Tchaikovsky Competitions in the recent sessions of these two events. The composer drew his inspiration from the architecture of the three classic Italian gardens: Cimbrone, Medici, and Visconti Borromeo Litta.
