Between 2007 and 2013, Kongh released three critically acclaimed albums, establishing themselves as one of the most distinctive voices in the Swedish heavy scene. The band built an international and dedicated fanbase through numerous tours alongside acts like Meshuggah and YOB, before embarking on a long hiatus. Kongh now resurfaces with a record that does not seek to replicate the past, but rather to extend and refine it. Born from ideas accumulated over the last decade and six months of intensive work, this new album continues the band's signature sound while remaining rooted in their unique blend of crushing heaviness, vast atmospheres, and hypnotic repetitions. Alongside this fundamental identity, the music incorporates electronic elements, layered textures, and some of the most ambitious compositions in the band's history. The album was written and recorded under the direction of founding member David Johansson; he handled the guitar, bass, electronics, and lead vocals, as well as the mixing. Drawing on his experience both within Kongh and as a touring guitarist for Cult of Luna from 2013 to 2019, Johansson has crafted a record that is both deeply personal and structurally grand. \"Staining the Ether\" offers a first glimpse into this new era; the track is presented here in a specially edited ten-minute single version, while the full album version unfolds over nineteen minutes. The piece alternates between crushing heaviness, vast soundscapes, and fragile, unsettling moments of restraint, providing a condensed entry point into the album's broader universe. The album also features contributions from several key figures in the Scandinavian heavy scene, including three former bandmates of Johansson from Cult of Luna. Christian Augustin provided the drums and recorded the vocals, while Kristian Karlsson handled the drum recording and mixing. The mastering was done by Magnus Lindberg, who had previously worked on Kongh's 2013 album, thus reinforcing the overall sonic and artistic coherence. Additional vocals are provided by Jörgen Sandström, known for his work with Grave, Entombed, and many other iconic bands. Far from being a mere nostalgia-laden reunion, Kongh's fourth album is a continuation: it is a work shaped by absence, perseverance, and renewal. It reconnects with the band's foundations while offering their most accomplished and coherent expression to date.","brand":"Kongh","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58442007478616,"sku":null,"price":24048189.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/7350184800075.jpg?v=1789079529","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/kongh_dissolved-in-time-edition-limitee-vinyle-rouge-et-noir-marbre_2026","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
