Remastered sound by Manfred Eicher and Jan Erik Kongshaug 24bit\/192kHz. Pilot project of a forthcoming series (ECM '24) of reissues on ECM. This 3 CD box set, released at the time of the 25th anniversary of Keith Jarrett's trio, now known as the \"Standards Trio,\" includes the reissues of the albums \"Standards Vol. 1,\" \"Standards Vol. 2,\" and \"Changes,\" the 3 discs from a memorably prolific recording session at the Power Station in New York. In January 1983, the trio of musicians and Manfred Eicher gathered for a recording session with the idea (against the grain at a time when everyone was playing their own compositions): to record an album of standards. Gary Peacock: \"It was incredible. We came in to make one album and came out with three. The only other pianist I had that much motivation to play standards with was Bill Evans.\" The entire session took place in a contagious good mood. Jarrett, very inspired, overflows with ideas and has enough material for two volumes of standards and an improvisation album (Changes). In one day, the trio had defined what would become their field of exploration for the next quarter century: American standards and free improvisation, becoming what would be the most famous jazz group in the world.","brand":"Keith Jarrett","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57752901321048,"sku":null,"price":23485370.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/0602517373440.jpg?v=1784621542","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en-us\/products\/keith-jarrett_setting-standards-new-york-sessions_2015_uni","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
